Frequently Asked Questions

DOTP belongs to the terephthalate ester family and does not contain a phthalate structure, so it is generally considered an environmentally friendly plasticizer. DOP belongs to the phthalate family and is subject to stricter restrictions in some sensitive applications.

No. DOTP has good thermal stability, and its decomposition temperature is much higher than normal processing temperatures. During normal processing, it mainly undergoes physical volatilization rather than chemical decomposition.

DOTP may migrate in rubber products because its compatibility with some rubbers, such as nitrile rubber, is lower than that of DOP. Excessive use can cause surface blooming, migration, and reduced dimensional stability. These issues can usually be improved by controlling the dosage, optimizing the formulation, or combining DOTP with other plasticizers.

DOTP should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and high temperatures, with containers sealed to prevent moisture. During transportation, prevent leakage and impact, keep away from ignition sources, absorb small spills with sand or soil, and contain and properly dispose of large spills.
